- Maintains a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment for patients. Assists with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene of the patient. Assists with patient positioning, standing, walking, and transferring. Performs routine laboratory tests as ordered. Prepares, administers, and documents prescribed medications via the ordered route. Assists in relevant patient teaching. Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on the assignment setting Provide clinically appropriate care as directed by the Registered Nurse and/or Physician. Collaborate with the pharmacy to replenish supplies Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Graduate of an accredited LPN program. Licensed Practical Nurse currently registered to practice in New York State. Demonstrated clinical competence and skills in problem-solving, communication, priority-setting, and interpersonal relationships) with experience in clinical nursing practice as a medical/surgical, behavioral health, or correctional health nursing experience preferred. Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development through attendance at continuing education in-service sessions and participation in professional/organizational committees/councils. Basic Life Support Certification is required; ACLS is encouraged.
