Manager, Risk Program Management / Agile Delivery Lead

Technology Risk Management (TRM) is a growing organization focused on providing expert advice, credible challenge, and effective oversight of information security and technology risk activities. The Associates that make up the TRM team are highly-skilled information security, cyber, technology, and risk management professionals who bring a wealth of experience to bear to deliver high-impact analysis and recommendations that are rooted in direct knowledge of security and technology.

As the Agile Delivery Lead, you'll assist teams by ensuring clear communication, coordinating execution and helping the team reach its goals. The Agile Delivery Lead will drive the appropriate Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban/etc.) focused on predictable, quality delivery and driving continuous agile maturity across the team. The Agile Delivery Lead will facilitate team productivity by removing impediments that may obstruct the pursuit of the team's goals and by preserving flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes. You'll also help support the overall TRM Agile program by helping coordinate ceremonies and brainstorming solutions to Agile implementation challenges.

You'll collaborate closely with senior leadership, and leverage your expertise in program management to drive transformative initiatives that propel Capital One's technology risk management forward. The demands and high-visibility nature of this position require an expert with a proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and who can begin contributing immediately.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Agile Delivery Lead for multiple teams

  • Ensures team maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery of business value

  • Builds relationships, collaborates, and communicates directly with practice leads and senior leaders to manage the intake, prioritization and slotting of new work

  • Designs, develops, and manages capacity & demand views within a complex and dynamic environment - helping to create visibility for our work and surface dependencies

  • Helps team proactively identify impediments and recommends solutions to remove impediments

  • Represents team when product owner is not available in daily standup or Scrum of Scrums (S2) meeting and clearly communicates team accomplishments, impediments, and downstream impacts.

  • Coaches the team to improve collaboration and self-organization

  • Demonstrates ability to balance data with other factors when making decisions

  • Understands domain architecture and upstream/downstream dependencies

  • Utilizes team feedback and analyzes data (quality, delivery rate, etc) to identify areas of opportunity and improve team efficiency and delivery

  • Actively seeks and participates in a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, conferences, classroom training and independent study to further develop self and community

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience managing technical programs, consulting engagements, or risk management frameworks

  • At least 4 years of experience as an Agile Delivery Lead or Scrum Master

  • At least 4 years of experience working with JIRA or Confluence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

  • Process management, Lean, or Six Sigma certification

  • SAFe certified or experience (or other scaled Agile frameworks)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP certification, or Lean 6 Sigma certification

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $147,800 - $168,700 for Risk Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
