MediaCo Sales Account Executive in New York, New York

We are currently seeking Account Executives to develop business and create meaningful relationships with our advertisers. Sales Account Executives - HOT 97 & WBLS Hot 97 and WBLS, New York's two most iconic brands, are looking for smart, aggressive, creative salespersons who has a track record of success. These highly rated stations are offering industry-beating compensation and benefits and the opportunity to work for one of the best broadcasters in the business. A successful Account Executive will work directly with local businesses and advertising agencies to generate revenue by securing advertising dollars for station by developing new business and maintaining existing advertisers through great customer service. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-performance environment, possess a true passion for developing new business, and have a resilient entrepreneurial attitude. This person will also exhibit excellent communication skills and a consistent work ethic.

Primary Position Expectations : Consistently meet and exceed revenue targets. Initiate sales process by prospecting, scheduling appointments, making presentations, understanding client business needs, developing proposals and closing sales; develop and maintain client relationships while providing top-quality customer service; utilize solution-based sales training and customer-focused selling. Develop aggressive market strategies by monitoring competitive products, trends and client reactions. Build diverse client portfolios by crafting strategic solutions around the stations unique products and services; thoroughly understand stations competitive situations and ratings positions. Prepare promotional plans/packages, sales literature, rates and sales contracts. Actively manage, service, and grow multiple accounts with our strategic account management .system Communicate with other departments to assure quality service, and arranging remotes and promotions. Collect prompt payment from clients and maintain required records and paperwork. Attend sales staff meetings and actively participates in training sessions, attend remotes and station events as needed. Minimum Requirements: 2-3 years successful media sales experience, proven results track record and ability to call on local, agency and various types of business decision makers. College Degree or combination of education and relevant job related experience. Experience with Hip Hop/Rhythmic CHR/Urban or similar formats a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with ability to interpret and use business publications, mathematical reports and ratings information. Strong work ethic with ability to participate in a collaborative work environment. A valid drivers license or ability to provide ones own transportation and insurance as required.
