Enterprise Communications & MarTech Experiences (ECMX) is a global organization within American Express that powers high quality, efficient and user-centric digital experiences and sits within the Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions (EDDS) Centre of Excellence.

We are looking for a Sr. Associate Product Owner to join the Emerging Channels, Push & Preferences team within ECMX, whose mission it is to enable a cohesive outbound capabilities landscape across our products and support both existing and emerging outbound mobile communication channels (including Push Notifications, WhatsApp, SMS and others).

This individual will work with engineering teams and business stakeholders across different geographies to execute the product vision and build features to expand and evolve our outbound mobile notifications ecosystem in current and future channels, including the Amex mobile app push notifications and SMS platforms. In addition to creating features, user stories, and acceptance criteria, this Product Owner will also have a part in driving the communications platform strategy when it comes to Push Notifications for products across the enterprise.

This role also includes primary ownership of SMS Vendor Management, encompassing the product, administrative and contractual work we do with our third-party SMS aggregators in order to maintain high standards expected by Amex customers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand needs, prioritize projects, and define clear requirements for technology partners when it comes to the world of push notifications, whilst keeping team capacity and goals in mind.

  • Execute product roadmap as a Product Owner and translate business/customer needs to create features, user stories, and acceptance criteria, taking E2E ownership for our mobile communication products & capabilities through the entire product cycle from conception, envisioning and testing through to delivery.

  • Partner with Technology on POA migration efforts in the world of Push Notifications and SMS.

  • Explore and create new push notification use cases across enterprise products.

  • Manage Mobile Communications product standards & governance; maintain relationships with our SMS vendors, owning Vendor Management responsibilities such as security reviews, invoicing and Purchase Order administration.

  • Drive collaborative spirit when working with technology, business stakeholders, and key partners across the enterprise through frequent and open communication.

  • Maintain awareness of competitive landscape and industry trends.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 year or more experience working as a product analyst/owner in an Agile product development environmentProven track record of delivering digital capabilities

  • Highly collaborative team player with persuasive communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimum guidance

  • A passion for all things digital inside and outside of work

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Would be a bonus

  • Experience working with UX/UI Product Development in partnership with Design Teams

  • Comfort with making data driven decisions; some experience partnering with analytics teams

  • Familiarity with the FinTech space

Qualifications

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
