What’s the role?

At Bloomberg Finance we are committed to delivering extraordinary support to our business partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership. We are looking for a Financial Specialist to support External Relations (comprised of Communications, Government Relations, and Corporate Philanthropy), as well as Global Sustainability and various Philanthropic Climate Finance initiatives, including the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net-Zero (GFANZ) and the Net-Zero Data Public Utility (NZDPU).

This role offers an opportunity to work across multiple business units and initiatives at various stages of maturity. As a leading member of this team, you will have the opportunity to drive strategic change across a dynamic and growing area of the business through a blend of financial and operational analysis, financial modeling, and senior management support and reporting.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Lead the financial reporting, analysis, and planning processes for External Relations, Global Sustainability, and Philanthropic Climate Finance Initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Annual budgeting and recurring outlook exercises

  • Quarterly reporting to the Board of Directors and Management Committee

  • Regular monthly close and reporting packages to Business Unit Leaders

  • Ad-hoc analysis dependent on business and management needs

  • Develop a deep understanding of existing workflows, technologies, and general operating procedures across each of the distinct departments under your remit. Use this insight to work closely with key stakeholders to inform business strategy & priorities, and the measurement of their success

  • Establish relationships with other finance and operating departments to effectively coordinate activities around financial & resource management

  • Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency of existing processes, and propose improvements to streamline the collection, use, and presentation of financial and operating data

  • Work with Corporate Controls and Risk teams to identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial risks within your departments

  • Supervise and develop Financial Analyst team via dotted line reporting

You’ll need to have:

  • 7+ years of financial experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields

  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to identify problems, understand the root cause, make recommendations and drive to a solution

  • Experience carrying out complex work with autonomy and making decisions within scope of responsibilities

  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility to work in a fast-moving environment, meet critical deadlines, and adapt to evolving priorities

  • Superior Microsoft Excel skills

We’d love to see:

  • Professional certification in the field of Accounting or Finance such as CPA or CFA

  • Domain knowledge in the fields of Climate Finance, Sustainability, and/or public or private sector Philanthropy

  • Familiarity with the Bloomberg terminal is useful, but not required

  • Experience with Enterprise software applications e.g., SAP

  • Experience with data visualization applications e.g., Tableau or Qlik

Salary Range: 155,000 - 205,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
