The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York Staff Associate III in New York, New York

The Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is a unique interdisciplinary research environment specializing in human genetics and genomics. The IGM leads cutting-edge research programs developing and characterizing cellular and animal models of human disease and therapeutic interventions.

The IGM is actively recruiting for a Staff Associate III position. The candidate will participate in studies of neurodevelopmental disease mechanisms with emphasis on laboratory models of childhood epilepsy and will be mentored by Dr. Wayne Frankel, Professor of Genetics and Development. The Staff Associate III will also co-supervise more junior laboratory staff and help trainees learn and troubleshoot new techniques, and will assist with ordering and laboratory management.


Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of experience.

Qualified candidates should have expertise in cellular and molecular biology, mouse husbandry and basic genetics and neuroanatomy.

Specific expertise with techniques and methodologies used in neuroscience research is highly preferred.
