City of New York Supervisor Highway Repairer in New York, New York

Job Description

TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY - ONLY DOT EMPLOYEES CURRENTLY SERVING IN THE TITLE OF SUPERVISOR HIGHWAY REPAIRER ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

Utilizes Pavement Works and other computer systems to perform data entry and data retrieval; schedules asphalt pick-up and deliveries; orders asphalt considering the lane miles, tonnage, and square yards. Assigns equipment and delegates assignments; maintain logs and records related to progress productivity, and assignment. Schedule equipment for repair or recommend replacement; (example: APM, Milling machines and rollers); attend Utility Coordination meetings on a monthly basis; oversees the installation of speed bumps; coordinates all milling and resurfacing with the related agencies; (example; Transit (Bus) and DEP); notify compaction contractor on a daily basis the location we will be resurfacing; work to ensure a quality job; evaluates the performance of subordinates; check all resurfacing and milling locations prior to commencing work; performs related duties.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements

Three years of full-time satisfactory experience as a working member of a roadway maintenance and repair crew using asphalt and concrete mixes, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

License Requirement

At the time of appointment, candidates must possess a Class B Commercial Driver License valid in the State of New York, valid for air brakes. Employees must maintain this license for the duration of employment.
