Job Summary:

The Mgr, Information Governance provides technical and managerial leadership to the Office of Information Governance and Privacy and is responsible for the operations of the Information Governance Council. The incumbent assists the Information Governance and Privacy Officer with developing and enforcing enterprise information governance policies, standards and procedures and drives utilization of the Information Governance Council structure throughout the enterprise for information governance related decision making.Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Information Governance program to enable the appropriate use of information throughout the organization; Develop strategy, metrics, engagement model, standards, training, communication plans and processes required to manage the program.

  • Develop Information Governance policy, standards, and processes for approval by the Information Governance and Privacy Center of Excellence and Information Governance Council and ensure they are uniformly understood and properly interpreted and administered.

  • Responsible for the operations of the Information Governance Council.

  • Perform impact and risk analysis for information governance initiatives and develop ROI calculations for presentation to executive level audiences.

  • Develop and maintain Information Inventory and Information Asset Roadmap. Gather input from and provides updates to the Analytics, Business, and IT organizations.

  • Serve as liaison with Data Governance to ensure continuity, awareness of and adherence to Information Governance policies and standards.

  • Lead efforts to develop and maintain information governance frameworks and standards, including management of Information Governance Council Committees.

  • Assess the effectiveness of information governance programs, recommending improvements and adjustments as needed.

  • Identify risks associated with information assets and implement appropriate controls to mitigate the risks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with privacy and information governance requirements.

  • Provide guidance and develop training to employees on information governance programs, policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Remain current on regulatory requirements, industry trends and best practices in information governance, explore new technologies, assess, and provide recommendations for use.

  • Create and deliver presentations and documentation to business, security, and IT stakeholders.

  • Manage, develop, and train staff; develop and monitor goals; conduct annual performance reviews, and administers salaries for the staff.

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Requires a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of information governance, privacy, or compliance experience in a health care environment.

  • Requires leadership or managerial experience.

  • Prefers a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the health insurance industry.

Knowledge:
  • Requires extensive knowledge of relevant State and Federal privacy laws, regulations, and standards.

  • Requires knowledge of the health insurance industry.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Organization and management of multiple priorities.

  • Proficient in various Microsoft software products.

  • Written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range:

$106,400 - $145,215

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
