The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

Job Summary:

In collaboration with Facilities/EHS Manager, responsible for upkeep of all plant equipment, facilities, and grounds including; day-to-day maintenance activities to sustain and improve the facility, perform complex skilled work relating to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry and painting, and facilitates Corporate and operational activities related to environmental, health and safety (EHS).

Essential Functions*:

  • Coordinate day-to-day facilities and/or production maintenance related activities with contract and sub-contract personnel.

  • Perform complex skilled maintenance on manufacturing equipment as necessary.

  • Perform complex repairs and preventive maintenance functions on building equipment.

  • Maintain grounds and roadways.

  • Understand and use building automation programs such as Johnson Controls Management System, Fire Control Systems, Alarm Systems and Building Access Systems.

  • Will require training in Hazardous Materials Handling.

  • Support capital improvement projects where appropriate.

  • Provide written and/or verbal reports and updates as required on facilities, maintenance, and capital activities projects.

  • Develop scopes of work and RFQ’s as necessary.

  • Support and promote a positive safety culture

  • In collaboration with Manager, ensures timely fulfillment of EHS and Facilities compliance requirements. (eg. reporting and permitting)

  • Assist with environmental training for key personnel as determined by regulatory or environmental management system requirements.

  • Travel and work outside of normal business hours as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

Education / Training / Skills / Experience:

  • Five (5) years minimum experience in a facilities, engineering and/or environmental role. Experience with construction, engineering, project design, contracts, specification and project management.

  • HVAC maintenance experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of building automation systems.

  • Drawing skills including AutoCAD, schematics, installation drawings and bill of materials.

  • Must currently possess or acquire within 30 days of employment RCRA training.

  • Hazardous Waste Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training preferred.

  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local Facilities and EHS regulations/trends, NEC and NFPA 70E.

  • Excellent computer skills with proven ability to work with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be organized and able to work productively with cross functional groups in the organization.

  • Hands on approach during troubleshooting project installation and startup activities.

  • Requires valid Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standard manufacturing and maintenance conditions. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
