Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience. Master’s Degree and 1 year of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree. 12 years of relevant non-exempt, Manufacturing, Military, Shipbuilding or Trades experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.
The position is in (O38) Non-Destructive Testing and reports to the O38 Quality Manager. NNS Apprentice School graduate or Non-Destructive Test experience is preferred. The candidate must be able to perform moderately complex assignments independently and with moderate direction. This position will require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those in shops and onboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul to include the use of vertical and inclined ladders.
