Food Service Worker Position

Global Connections to Employment (GCE) is a nationwide team providing jobs and training for people with significant disabilities, including veterans. We empower our team members and help match them to fulfilling careers, from custodial and food services to facilities maintenance, information technology and other business lines in between.[We serve three meals a day 365 days a year to the Navy sailors enrolled in Officer Candidate School (OCS) and the Naval Warfare college. We currently oversee the food service contract for Naval Station (NAVSTA) Newport and have active job postings for multiple Food Service Worker positions. Most of our jobs fall under the AbilityOne (AB1) program and would require applicants to provide supporting documentation of a significant disability to be considered for employment. GCE employs a team that is geographically located across the country to assist with this process.

Job description

Job duties include, serving food cafeteria style, washing dishes, general cleaning, and light custodial duties. Full-time team members receive major medical and life insurance and both part-time and full-time team members receive thirteen paid holidays, two weeks PTO after 1 year, and seven paid sick days per year.

[**Work schedules vary by need and individual availability or limited by earning restrictions; however, breakfast shifts start at 5:45 am - 9:30 am; lunch shifts start at 10:45 am - 2:30 pm; dinner shifts start at 4:15pm - 8:00pm.
