  • Summary

  • BASIC FUNCTION—The Health and Wellness Coordinator will work within parameters set by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc., and under the general direction of the Atlantic Corporate Health manager, assistant manager, and Occupational Health Medical Director. This health professional is responsible for the implementation and administration of a comprehensive health and wellness platform designed to engage client-company employees and is consistent with current health mission and initiatives.

  • NATURE AND SCOPE—This position will be administered by a health professional possessing the skills and background stated below. The Wellness Coordinator/Health Educator will focus on achieving specific corporate health and wellness goals and objectives. Wellness Coordinator/Health Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, overseeing, and evaluating health promotion and exercise programs to address identified health and lifestyle needs for an employee population. This health professional will use individual and population-based health promotion strategies to improve lifestyle choices and create a healthy corporate environment.

  • Essential Job Functions

  • Act as a liaison for on-site clinicians in the delivery of corporate services including employer-based fitness center programming, health fairs, satellite and live lunch and learn programs and screenings

  • Administer any social media or internal wellness portal vendor

  • Analyze employee health data using a systems approach to in order to establish targeted population programming

  • Assist in the research, design, instruction, management, and evaluation of health promotion programs using health promotion theory and ecological framework including, but not limited to incentivized reward programing and benefits design that follows approved Atlantic Corporate Health policy and procedures, work within CHES®/CCWS® nature and scope and/or refer to the appropriate healthcare provider for all program implementation and development

  • Conduct needs assessments to inform prevention and education programs

  • Coordinate and deliver corporate client employee wellness programs on topics including but not limited to: mental/emotional wellness, nutrition, physical activity, smoking cessation, and weight management

  • Coordinate and lead wellness coalition

  • Leverage existing health and wellness vendors to support department initiatives, (i.e. EAP, online coaching vendor, graphic design vendors, online wellness platforms, etc.)

  • Monitor each program to assure efficient and effective quality service

  • Monitor employee program outcomes to create compliance and improve health outcomes

  • Promote each health and wellness initiative using the internal communication systems and protocol

  • Provide overviews, updates, and statistics of such programs at regular intervals

  • Provide program consultation, administrative, and technical assistance to corporate benefits personnel

  • Works in conjunction with corporation representative focusing on achieving corporate health and wellness goals and objectives

  • Perform related duties as assigned

  • Education— A master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Health Education/Promotion, Public Health or related field preferred. Bachelor's degree Health Education/Promotion, Public Health or related field required.

  • Certifications and Licenses—

  • Certified Health Education Specialist® (M/CHES) or Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist® (CCWS), required

  • CPR for Health Care Provider certification, required

  • Valid Driver’s License and transportation, required

  • Experience and Skills—

  • Exhibit a high level of customer service and client responsiveness

  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated via physical portfolio

  • Experience with organizing, managing, and evaluating health and wellness initiatives, prior experience in corporate/employer-based Health Education/Promotion preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficiency regarding the seven areas of Responsibility and including the comprehensive set of Competencies and Sub-competencies from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (I. Assess Needs, Assets and Capacity for Health Education, II. Plan Health Education, III. Implement Health Education, IV. Conduct Evaluation and Research Related to Health Education, V. Administer and Manage Health Education, VI. Serve as a Health Education Resource Person, V II. Communicate and Advocate for Health and Health Education)
