Robert Half Desktop Support Analyst in Norfolk, Virginia
Description
Responsibilities:
Provide first-line technical support to end-users, promptly resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues
Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software applications, and operating systems
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner
Assist with user account management in Active Directory, including account setup, password resets, and permissions management
Respond to support requests via phone, email, or in-person, ensuring timely and effective resolution
Follow standard operating procedures for incident management, documenting all support interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system
Conduct remote troubleshooting and provide remote support using remote access tools
Assist with the setup and configuration of audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, enhancing technical knowledge and skills through self-learning and training opportunities
Requirements
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or degrees are a plus
2+ years of experience in a desktop support or technical support role, preferably in a corporate environment
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop hardware components
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and peripherals
Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems
Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly assess and resolve issues
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
