Amentum Hardware Design Engineer II in Norfolk, Virginia

Amentum is seeking a Hardware Engineer II to support a Navy customer in Dam Neck, VA.

Using your prowess and experience, help our customer define, document, and follow an open systems approach using modular design, standards-based interfaces, and widely supported consensus-based standards in hardware, software, subsystems, and elements that comprise the specific system.

Hardware Engineer II Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware for products.

  • Developing test strategies, devices, and systems.

  • Performing stress and performance tests on a variety of computer hardware including circuit boards, processors, and wiring. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

  • Contributing to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the fields of computer system design, computer programming and database design.

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of related full-time professional experience working as a hardware engineer in at least one major shipboard, non-propulsion electronic system. Education may be substituted by this same experience.

  • Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
