Job Summary

The Athletic Trainer will provide quality health care primarily to their assigned sport but support other staff members with health care for all 400+ student-athletes at Illinois State University. The Trainer will be responsible for all aspects of health care including, but not limited to: practice coverage, competition coverage, treatment, rehabilitation, post-injury care, injury prevention, and facilitation of physician referrals. The sport assignment will be with Mens and Womens Tennis, Mens and Womens Golf, and Cheerleading. The Athletic Trainer will serve as a Preceptor in the athletic training education program. Additional administrative duties will be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:\ 1. Ability to communicate effectively on a daily basis\ 2. Ability to occasionally lift of 15 - 25 pounds.\ 3. Ability to occasionally bend, twist reach, kneel, squat, push, pull or climb onto a table to perform duties consistent with action necessary to medically treat student-athletes.
