Business Development Quality Intern Overview:

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

The Pharmacovigilance, Patient Safety, Epidemiology, and Quality (PSEQ) organization works collaboratively and strategically with colleagues across the product lifecycle to identify, evaluate, understand, and communicate the safety profile and ensure quality standards of AbbVie products to protect patients worldwide.

The Business Development Quality Intern works across R&D to successfully integrate AbbVie acquired assets, systems, and personnel into our respective organization and product development pipeline.

The team is a high-profile and high-impact group that interacts cross-functionally to ensure the successful continuation of product development including supplier qualification efforts, clinical supply chain continuity, quality systems considerations, and more. As a member of the team, you are at the forefront of working with leaders to identify critical lessons learned and drive high-value projects to support AbbVie’s R&D Quality integration activities.

The Business Development Quality intern requires an engaged and agile individual who is willing to grow through established relationships, discussions, and a continuous learning environment. During this internship experience, the intern will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with R&D Quality and business strategy colleagues essential to the successful continued development of acquired AbbVie assets.

AbbVie strongly considers high performing interns as candidates for the Patient Safety &Quality Development Program, a two-year rotational program aimed at developing the leaders of tomorrow within the Patient Safety and Quality function.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • To collaborate with cross-functional leaders to capture and report lessons learned from historical integration activities in R&D Quality.

  • To lead process improvement workshops associated with optimizing how R&D Quality performs their integration efforts.

  • To improve upon existing quality integration playbook materials to grow a culture of excellence and efficiency in integration activities.

  • To support & lead relevant project management activities associated with potentially ongoing integration efforts during the intern program.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business, Biology, Engineering, Life Sciences/Medical Sciences degrees or other related field

  • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship

  • Expected graduation date between December 2025 – June 2026

  • Proficient in required software including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Quality-related course work or experience
