Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation, review & filing of federal/state/international income tax returns, including preparing tax packages & identifying transactions that have tax ramifications.

  • Support all aspects of income tax provision process, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls compliance & reporting, & various other projects.

  • Prepare the tax provision, analysis of tax accounts & reserves, & Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of FAS 109 tax accounting & other necessary FASB pronouncements, as well as internal control issues.

  • Prepare interim & annual worldwide income tax provision, including the effective tax rate, analysis of tax accounts & uncertain tax positions, journal entries & other supporting schedules.

  • Prepare U.S. GAAP tax disclosures for SEC Form 10-K, 10-Q reporting, as well as monthly tax balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • Responsible for researching highly complex tax issues & for being proficient in interpreting & applying the tax law, regulations, & cases to specific transactions & factual situations.

  • Assist with tax process improvement initiatives & tax technology implementations utilizing Microsoft Excel & tax provision software such as OneSource & Longview.

  • Provide support relating to tax audits, including providing information, extensive research, & strategy as it relates to specific issues & positions in the tax returns.

  • Perform analysis for deferred tax assets & liabilities, as well as identifying & communicating potential tax planning opportunities or exposures to management utilizing analytical tax research skills & tools such as RIA Checkpoint, CCH Tax Research, & Bloomberg Tax & Accounting.

  • Apply advanced tax knowledge to support business needs.

  • Act as an advisor to management.

  • Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques & standards.

Qualifications

Must possess Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Accounting Science, Finance or a highly related field of study with at least 3 years of related experience in the following:

  • supporting all aspects of the income tax provision process, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls compliance & reporting, & various other projects;
