A Day in the Life

Performs a variety of supervised tasks in helping to maintain and repair manufacturing machinery, tooling and associated support equipment used to produce, inspect and sterilize products. This is the intermediate-level technician position in Manufacturing Maintenance.

Inspects and repairs production and support equipment, using mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum technologies

Assists in troubleshooting equipment failures and repairs, and assists in equipment modifications according to written specifications

Assists other technicians as directed

Works from prints and sketches to assist in layout work, parts fabrication, and assembly

Carries out preventive and predictive maintenance per established schedules and task listings

Maintains hand and special tools and related equipment; uses hand and powered tools, precision test equipment and instruments as required

Observes standard and prescribed safety and good maintenance procedures, and applies good housekeeping practices in work areas at all times

Detail oriented, quick learner, able to retain complex technical information

Ability to follow departmental and safety procedures

Must have good mechanical aptitude

Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in the English language

Ability to lift considerable weight on an occasional basis

Ability to safely use general maintenance hand tools

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience

  • High school diploma

Nice to Have

Electrical / Electronic skills

Electro-mechanical maintenance experience

Computer skills
