Description

Based in the North Hollywood, California area, this exciting long-term contract / temporary opportunity is set in an engaging work place where hard work is rewarded. As Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position spends a fair amount of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, your will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting. You will also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, play an active role in compliance, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
What you get to do every day
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Strong familiarity with Construction Cost
Overhead Rates experience
Solid understanding of construction project accounting
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
