Criterion Systems Senior Cyber Security Architect in North Las Vegas, Nevada

We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architect to join our Cybersecurity Team to support a government customer.

This position is in Las Vegas, Nevada with travel to various CONUS client locations.

The Senior Cybersecurity Architect will provide expert level strategic planning to develop technical solutions, provide technical guidance and assistance, perform review and development of cybersecurity relevant policies; all with an enterprise view and in conjunction with support provided by a team of Cybersecurity Architects and Senior Systems Engineers working under a major Federal government contract, supporting both classified and unclassified information systems and networks.

This is a highly collaborative position that requires an understanding of the client organization's business needs and providing secure technical solutions to meet those needs by interfacing with contract staff, government client managers and executives, and other contractors.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Be a technology leader within a team of senior systems engineers, senior network engineers, cybersecurity architects, and software developers.
  • Close collaboration with customer personnel and teams to ensure solutions are developed with an Enterprise mindset and ensure solutions address site specific requirements and concerns.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to develop and execute cybersecurity and IT projects.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to teams within the organization.
  • Interview stakeholders to identify and collect requirements.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of Security Architecture documents and artifacts.
  • Develop secure solutions for enterprise, enclave, and local-level information systems.
  • Create, analyze, and improve effectiveness of business and engineering processes.
  • Support the strategic technical vision for the customer organization.
  • Design solutions that satisfy redundancy, high-availability, scalability, security, and manageability requirements.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the organization's technology roadmap.
  • Support the development and execution of plans to achieve the technology roadmap.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge-baseof emerging threats and technologies, and techniques to detect and mitigate them.
  • Active participation in Engineering Review activities.
  • Leading and working within cross-functional and cross-site teams, building consensus, and influencing project directions to achieve strategic objectives
  • Support the development of and updating of Cybersecurity and IT policies and procedures.
  • Disrupt the status quo to eliminate complacency and drive innovation into cybersecurity and IT operations.
  • Continual optimization of cybersecurity solutions to manage operating and maintenance costs and labor burden while improving effectiveness and responsiveness.
  • This position may require up to 25% travel.

Required Experience, Education, Skills and Technologies

  • Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of architecture standards and patterns, and a passion for advocating their correct usage.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of best practices for securing networks and computer systems.
  • Experience designing, architecting, or implementing complex enterprise systems.
  • Previous experience leading IT and/or cybersecurity teams and projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking systems, architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft O/S and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux O/S and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge with cloud architectures and systems and security approaches.
  • Effective leadership and relationship management skills, with ability to influence activity and perform nce without direct authority.
  • Experience in implementing and delivering technology projects requiring cross-functional coordination.
  • Solid understanding of best practices in designing and maintaining high availability systems and environments.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity, IT, Systems Administration, Network Architecture, Systems Development, or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or related area, or substitute with 4 years of work experience in a related field.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required (no dual citizenship).

Preferred Experience, Education, Skills and Technologies

  • Current Q or TS clearance with SCI.
  • Experience architecting and/or engineering data pipelines, ETL processes, data ingestion systems, data storage, data normalization, data warehousing, and/or similar.
  • Experience with engineering and architecture in a large, geographically separated, interconnected enterprise environment.
  • Working knowledge of architecture frameworks and standards used in Federal Government IT and security operations.
  • Experience working in a classified or highly secured IT networks and environments.
  • A combination of standard Information Assurance industry certifications, to include GSEC, CISSP, CISM, CCIE, MCSE, RHCA, DoD 8570 or the ability to obtain a certification.
  • Knowledge and experience of intrusion analysis, digital forensics, incident response, and incident management.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Big Data and high-volume systems.
  • Strong experience mitigating and remediating PC LOAD LETTER errors.
  • Experience working with and designing geographically separated infrastructures and disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong experience and background in solution development and deployment of large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong understating of risk management, vulnerability mitigation, and compliance requirements for Federal IT systems.

Security Clearance Level

  • Have to be clear-able, or already have an active DOE Q or TS clearance.
