About the role ConTech Lighting - A Leviton Company This position works with engineering, marketing and operations to coordinate, document and test our products for all aspects of operational compliance. The individual will manage multiple concurrent projects requiring internal and external contract testing and certification agencies. Responsibilities Create and maintain a project plan for each project under direct control, including time and cost Prepare, submit and track regulatory approval (UL, CSA, CE, ETL, CCC SASO, PSE, etc) of fixture and component design projects Maintain internal testing facility backlog and report generation Create and maintain a complete set (electronic) of certification documentation for each project Support sales and production in the allowable alternate construction of fixtures with the certification limitations Create BOMs for new fixtures and assembly instructions for alternate constructions Support Customer Service and Sales when field installation issues are encountered Prepare budget and track spending on certification activitiesCreate and maintain a project plan for each project under direct control, including time and cost Work with external labs and certification agencies and manage the overall approval process to meet NRTL/SCC, FCC/IC, CE, NOM, wireless protocols, energy codes and others, as needed. Create and maintain a complete set (electronic) of certification documentation for each project Support sales and production in the allowable alternate construction of fixtures with the certification limitations. Prepare budget and track spending on certification activities. Interface with All internal departments, consult and provide guidelines on regulatory requirements for new and existing products as needed (product design, component selection, content of instruction sheets, content for product labels, etc.) Advise business unit’s responsible personnel on regulatory compliance trends, changes, and considerations to ensure feasibility with the guidelines. Investigate and lead inspection variations notices. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; BSME or BSEE required 2+ years experience with electrical certification (UL/CSA/ETL), previous exposure and understanding of Lighting (UL1598, 1574, 2108, 8750, 153, 924, etc.) a plus Knowledge of standard light sources and drivers; LEDs, HID, Fluorescent, etc. Experience with project management processes Knowledge of lighting industry testing and regulatory processes Understanding of electrical installation and the NEC (National Electrical Code), CEC Canadian Electric Code), CCEA Expectations: Understand Lighting Industry Certification standards Skills & Abilities Understand Lighting Industry Certification standards; Safety: UL, CSA, ETL, CE, CCC, SASO, PSE; Energy Efficiency: Energy Star, California Electrical Code/Title 24, Design Lights Consortium (DLC), T20 Testing/ Certification Standards: UL 1598, IES LM79, LM80, etc. Use of test measurement equipment (Integrating Sphere, Gonio photometer, thermal couple reader) Team oriented Open communication with peers, subordinates and management Organized and focused Able to document and maintain records Clear, direct, positive oral and written communications A positive approach to resolving conflicts, issues and problems Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
