UL, LLC Senior Manager Global HRIS in Northbrook, Illinois

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HRIS Manager to manage our company’s HRIS function. Reporting to the Director, HRIS & Analytics, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in HRIS implementation, data analysis, data maintenance, overall system landscape experience, as well as project management. The Senior HRIS Manager will be responsible for optimizing HRIS processes, partnering to create and maintain an HRIS playbook, manage special projects, and oversee audits. This role requires a deep understanding of HRIS platforms, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role is hybrid on-site (3) days a week

  • Drives strategic development and management of all global HR systems. Sets strategy for HR systems’ security, including, but may not be limited to, planning, implementing and maintaining security guidelines based on criteria provided by management and UL’s Security teams.

  • Develops plans and priorities around HRIS strategy and related initiatives (e.g., system implementations). Leads efforts to maintain accurate master data including process for data collection and regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.

  • Develops and governs data entry procedures in systems to provide troubleshooting and support for end-users. Oversees recurring data audits and manages a repeatable auditing strategy.

  • Manages and coordinates activities of different functions (front and down-stream) maintaining accountability for cross-functional effectiveness and efficiency. Identifies opportunities for streamlining and enhancing current HRIS activities and moves beyond established processes.

  • Manages and maintains vendor relationships to ensure adherence to service level agreements.

  • Works closely with HR and Business Leadership (including Executives) and represents HR on key enterprise-wide initiatives with an employee data/HR system component to provide scorecards, dashboards and reports to demonstrate analysis and insight into our business and our teams

  • Partners closely with HR and business leadership regarding on-going training, communication and education on system(s) and system(s) enhancements, with HR Business Partners and business to ensure compliant processes and successful experiences for our candidates and employees, with Payroll, Training, Finance, Legal and other department operations leads to have success transfer of data through all systems and with HR Business Process Owners to design and implement key HR processes.

  • Develops data integrity protocols between HRIS and other internal systems and to resolve all problems related to HR systems and processes that are hosted by external vendors. This may be in collaboration with IT.

  • Acquires and tracks internal customer feedback to ensure user issues / concerns are being addressed and processes are aligned and maintained to meet business needs

  • Leads others on the HRIS team (direct reports) and prioritizes their work in alignment with global HRIS strategy

  • Read and follow the UL Solutions and follow all physical and digital security practices

  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business, or a related disciplines plus eight to ten years of experience in HRIS/Analytics/IT.

  • Strong knowledge of HRIS concepts and best practices

  • Experience managing people and with the Oracle HRMS, Oracle Business Intelligence reporting, and Microsoft Power BI

  • Strong experience in excel and analytical skills

  • Strong understanding of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases and database tools

  • Demonstrated experience in extracting and manipulating system data from large databases.

  • Experience in working on technical project implementation teams, preferably experience in leading a team.

  • Ability to be flexible, adapt to change and work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently, resolve project issues, meet deadlines and escalate appropriately to management. Project management experience required.

  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical constituents.

  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to discern critical items, perform follow up, & strong attention to detail.

  • Key focus on customer service and peer relationships
