Carleton College Title IX Coordinator in Northfield, Minnesota

Position Summary: The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and facilitation of efforts to foster a working, learning, and living environment that is free from sex-based discrimination, including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and other forms of sexual harassment. This position is responsible for ensuring that the College s Title IX policies, procedures, and practices are in full compliance with Title IX and other federal, state, and local laws. This position supports all members of the Carleton community students, staff, and faculty. This is a year-round 1.0 FTE position. This position is eligible for the College s full benefits package. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Title IX Compliance and Response: Oversee handling of all sexual misconduct and Title IX reports and complaints, as well as compliance with procedures and processes of the College s Policy Against Sexual Misconduct. Identify and assess any patterns or systemic problems revealed by reports and complaints and ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting. Promote a commitment to working, learning, and living environments free from harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct. Provide vision and leadership around Title IX issues, emphasizing compliance and education. Provide oversight of all reports, complaints, investigations, and resolutions related to sexual misconduct. Coordinate and ensure the timely completion of the College s response and investigation of reports and complaints of sexual misconduct. Provide assistance to any College community member regarding how to report complaints of sexual misconduct and the supportive measures available. Work closely with Carleton s Class Deans to provide supportive measures, including academic accommodations. Monitor and develop policies and procedures to be in full compliance with Title IX and other federal, state, and local laws. Provide oversight, training, and leadership for all Title IX initiatives and maintain accurate records of all compliance. Work closely with outside legal counsel to mitigate potential areas of risk to the College. Develop policies and safeguards to ensure an inclusive, equitable, safe, and welcoming learning, living, and working environment. Training and Education: Develop, deliver, and oversee College-wide Title IX training and preventive programming for the entire campus community. Partner with the Office of Health Promotion (OHP), Student Health and Counseling (SHAC), Physical Education, Athletics, and Recreation (PEAR) to provide annual sexual violence prevention education to students, student-athletes, and other key audiences. Provide training to all new College staff and faculty. Coordinate annual training for Title IX Deputies, Appeal Adjudicators, and Decision Makers. Facilitate assessment, including campus climate surveys and ongoing feedback from community members served and other campus stakeholders. Assist in New Student Week Programming and training for Peer Leaders on reporting responsibilities. Leadership and Collaboration: Support a team of Title IX deputies, including the Title IX deputy for faculty and staff and the Title IX deputy for athletics. Chair Carleton s Title IX Lead Team and Community Board for Sexual Misconduct, Decision Makers for Carleton s formal complaint process. Serve on College committees, including Community, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (CEDI), the PEAR Equity Committee, and the CARE Team. Collaborates and coordinates with compliance partners within the department and across the institution to support the College's overlapping compliance needs and responsibilities.
