Group Summary

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. About the Role

Responsible for the general accounting functions for the engineering division

Your Responsibilities

  • Performs Accounts Payable activities including reconciliations, auditing transactions, preparing purchase orders, cash receipts, perform penny test for new ACH payments, payments, and reporting

  • Peforms Accounts Receivable activities including invoicing, travel advances, and reconciliations

  • Performs General Ledger activities including journal entries, banking, lockbox, foreign exchange, government reporting, fixed assests, bank reconciliations, weekly cash flow projections, balancing inter-company accounts, month- end and year- end closing of books

  • Prepares management reports for internal audits and transfer pricing

  • Develop and prepare the annual capital and operating budgets and quarterly forecasts; review and approve capital project justifications and economic analysis for proposed capital expenditures

  • Lead budget and forecasting process. Department budget preparation, reviews and measures of attainment. Prepare cost roll up and divisional billings. Presentation of budgets/forecasts.

  • Prepares payroll journal entries, reconciliations, process expense reports

  • Prepares monthly KPI, Working Capital, and headcount reports

  • Prepares Annual Audit Working File / Controllers Model File

  • Prepares manual checks and wire transfers

  • Follows Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies

  • Perform other duties as required

Your preferred qualifications

  • Post- Secondary diploma in Accounting or Business

  • Pursuing CPA designation

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience

  • Related manufacturing/automotive experience

  • Experience working with SAP preferred

  • Experience in OneStream and Hyperion

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics preferred

  • Intermediate Excel Skills (VLookup, SUMIF, Pivot Tables)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to manage time and organize effort

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to analyze data

  • Problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Self-motivating and able to work independently

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity
