You will have a strong sense of the key issues of interest to chartered accountants (the Acuity audience) and contribute ideas to help shape our coverage.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all editorial briefs are of the highest standard and deliver on their content objectives.

  • Ensuring all content is of the highest quality and is suitable to the audience/client/channel, suggesting enhancements where necessary.

  • Top editing, writing and interviewing, as required.

  • Understanding how to maximise content (ie create multiple formats out of a single feature/event).

  • Using data to inform content – SEO, trends and engagement rates.

  • Maintaining awareness of relevant issues in accounting, business and finance to ensure the content focus remains timely, relevant and inspiring.

  • Attending content planning meetings with CA ANZ, as required.

  • Managing budgets, in consultation with the editor.

  • Alongside the editor, maintaining a database of local and international freelance contractors.

Who are you?

  • You have exceptional organisational skills.

  • You have a deep understanding of all aspects of the publishing process, from print production and doing grids, through to best practice in digital content creation and maximisation.

  • Meeting deadlines is second nature – and you have proven experience.

  • You have the capacity to inspire and lead a creative team.

  • Past employers will say you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • You have mid-level editorial experience across print and digital properties.

  • You understand how analytics can inform content planning and creation.

  • You’re experienced in taking and meeting (advertising) client briefs.

  • You’ll develop a strong understanding of client publishing and the importance of meeting the client’s objectives.

  • You are proficient in publishing software (InDesign, Studio etc).
