The Technical Operations Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for;

  • Leading investigations for manufacturing technical failures and determining a path forward to ensure on-time delivery to the customer is met.

  • Leverage Problem Solving process to address issues in the IA value stream.

  • Leading the transfer of products and processes from other Beckman sites to bring growth to the company and ensuring project milestones are met on time.

You will be a part of the IA Technical Operations Team and report to the IA Technical Operation Manager responsible for ensuring technical issues on the IA manufacturing line are resolved in a timely manner to support customer OTD and grow the IA business through the transfer of new products and processes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in ACCESS Diagnostic Assays, IA, Co. Clare

  • Design and lead technical investigations including run setup, review of results and statistical analysis of data to resolve simple and technical issues with products/processes and customer complaints.

  • Implement cross functional initiatives to simplify and align technical operations functions across the different value streams.

  • Provide technical assistance and contribute to the training of less experienced technical operations scientists including mentoring and coaching where appropriate.

  • Lead/participate in DBS and Kaizen projects and activities.

  • Lead the transfer of products and processes from other Beckman sites.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor Degree (Level 8) in a Science discipline and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR Masters Degree (Level 9) in a Science discipline and a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR PhD Degree (Level 10) in a Science discipline.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Diagnostic reagents and associated systems

  • cGMP and ISO/FDA
