We're currently seeking a qualified Staff Accountant to join a company in Oceano for a temporary to hire job opportunity.

• Accurately record daily deposits and ACH payments.

• Calculate, record, and distribute production invoices.

• Review and approve coding and validity of accounts payable invoices.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and prepare summaries for management.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements, petty cash, and other accounts.

• Analyze and reconcile operational metrics (chemical use, breeding hours, etc.).

• Manage and adhere to month-end closing procedures.

• Prepare and submit required financial reports.

• Complete annual filings and reports.

• Collaborate with other teams to gather financial data and support needs.

• Assist in preparing tax reports and support audits.

• Work with the Accounting Manager to review variances and make correcting entries.

• Handle ongoing tasks like fixed asset management, insurance allocations, and depreciation reviews.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Complies with all policies and standards.

  Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.

• Proficiency in accounting software, including Microsoft Dynamics (or similar software like QuickBooks).

• Strong understanding of accounting principles (generally accepted accounting principles - GAAP).

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Experience with financial reporting and analysis is a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
