Get Involved in DREAM!(Disability Rights,Education,Activism,and Mentoring)- Help students with disabilities reach their academic and professional goals- Gain leadership skills and recognition from WSU- Expand your network of colleagues and friends on campus and in the community- Increase your self-esteem,self-confidence,and leadership competence- Learn new methods for effective communication and collaboration- Complete specialized training that looks great on a resume!To facilitate opportunities for students with disabilities and achieve theoutcomes of the DREAM program,DREAM students will commit to the following:- Be a positive role model for students with disabilities- Be a positive representative of WSU,Disability Services,and DREAM- Demonstrate an ability to work with diverse populations- Facilitate effective one-on-one and small group activities- Facilitate and coordinate campus programs,workshops,and training sessions- Demonstrate professionalism,organization,excellent communicationand listening skills,responsibility,accountability,integrity,and a desireto learn,grow and develop as a leader and team member- Perform leadership duties or employment tasks as assigned by Transition Coordinator and DREAM DirectorAll DREAM students will work under the supervision of Disability Services and will be required to attend and participate in training sessions,staff meetings,workshops,and similar activities throughout the year and will demonstrate a commitment to DREAM and department goals and expectations.
