Project Overview:

Our client is partnered with the Northrop Grumman Corp. team preparing to deliver the U.S. Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system of inter-continental ballistic missiles and launch infrastructure. GBSD is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation's aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel will provide launch system design, construction, and integration.

A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. Role Overview: This role will support design development of structural and blast engineering designs for the GBSD program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with other Structural engineers and technical disciplines in a team environment.

Job Responsibilities: Perform formal structural calculations dealing with primarily blast loads Development of concrete and steel structural design and drawings, Foundation design and drawings Review customer and vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution Develop design configuration packages for configuration control, change management, and procurement Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team

Basic Qualifications: BS degree in Engineering (Structural or related), from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of relevant experience. US citizenship is required per contract requirement.

Minimum Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively. Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards. Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles. Ability to execute work independently and greater than 1 year of Bechtel service for consideration of working at other than designated location

Preferred Qualifications: Possess active security clearance MS degree in Structural or related Engineering, from an accredited university. Experience designing seismic bracing and supports.
