Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Kubernetes Engineer to join the team of a payment processor company and will be responsible for managing their existing Kubernetes clusters, ensuring they are up-to-date and optimized for performance and security. Additionally, they will be tasked with creating new Kubernetes clusters for upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in deploying Kubernetes and administering clusters on various cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.

Responsibilities:

 Manage and maintain existing Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.

 Stay up-to-date with Kubernetes releases and security patches, and implement updates in a timely manner.

 Create and configure new Kubernetes clusters according to project requirements, utilizing best practices for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project needs and provide Kubernetes infrastructure solutions.

 Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters, including networking, storage, and resource allocation.

 Implement monitoring and logging solutions for Kubernetes clusters to ensure visibility into system health and performance.

 Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes clusters using Helm from CI/CD pipelines.

 Utilize Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure resources required for Kubernetes clusters.

 Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and cloud computing, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

 Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for critical incidents.

Skills and Requirements

4+ years of experience managing large scale, production Kubernetes environments.

 3+ years of experience and deep working knowledge of at least one of the following cloud providers: AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud

 2+ years of experience and deep working knowledge with HashiCorp Terraform on Azure including experience writing Terraform Modules

 Experience with networking and security concepts, methods and technologies in large scale, production cloud environments.

 Experience with log collection tools and analysis, as well as infrastructure performance monitoring tools and optimization practices.

 Strong working knowledge of container-based infrastructure (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, containerd, etc.) - CKA and/or CKAD certification to demonstrate expertise in the Kubernetes space.
