Position Overview

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for a Aerodynamics Engineer to join the Flight Systems - Aerodynamics team located in Oklahoma City, OK. The ideal candidate will have a aerodynamic analysis background

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads, plans and performs aerodynamic/aero thermodynamic design and analysis of flight vehicles to ensure that the vehicle meets requirements.

  • Leads the development of new and improving existing technologies, tools and processes to enhance technology readiness, improve vehicle performance and reduce cycle time and cost.

  • Plans, conducts, coordinates and/or develops test requirements and evaluates test results to ensure compliance with requirements.

  • Develops Boeing responses to proposed regulations that impact cost, performance, producibility, maintainability and safety.

  • Trains and coaches others.

  • Works under minimal direction.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience in analyzing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) results and interpretation of findings

  • 1+ years of experience and/or education in aircraft stability and control

  • 1+ years of Aircraft Certification experience

  • 3+ years of experience do you have in ice accretion analysis, ice shapes and thermal analyses

  • 1+ years of experience in aerodynamics' flight testing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Experience in aircraft assessments against reduced vertical separation minimum (RVSM) qualification criteria

  • Experience with icing analysis, specifically in assessing impacts to aircraft performance and stability & control

  • Experience with coordinating multi-discipline efforts, either in acting as aerodynamics representative or leading overall effort

  • Proficiency with MADCAP and AFLR mesh generation tools, used to enable computational fluid dynamics (CFD) assessments

  • Proficiency with Boeing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools, specifically BCFD

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary Pay Range: $106,250 - $143,750
