We are looking for a Director of Food Safety Systems to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska or Chicago, Illinois. We are also open to remote employees.

As the Director of Food Safety Systems , reporting to Sr Director of Food Safety Quality & Regulatory Affairs, you will lead the Food Safety & Quality Systems team leveraging data to uncover insights and guide the company’s strategic food safety and quality decisions. You will support the strategic development and prioritization of information technology systems for the Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs teams. You will work with technical and business teams to facilitate the successful deployment and scaling of AI solutions and data systems.

Position Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for electronic systems (QMS, LIMS, SPC, etc.) that monitor food safety and quality data.

• Work collaboratively as an influential partner to IT, Data Science, product teams, and other stakeholders to gain agreement on product plans and to ensure they are implemented efficiently.

• Engage and empower direct reports and stakeholders in new and existing processes by providing them with the necessary tools and information needed for continuous improvement of food safety systems.

• Responsible for coaching and developing a team of managers and individual contributors as a leader of the food safety systems team.

• Collaborate with and directs teams from various functions to ensure that food safety and quality electronic systems are well executed and delivering the necessary data for decision making.

• Lead the design and implementation of relevant dashboards, reporting capabilities, and examine data to assess patterns that lead to improved decision-making regarding food safety and quality standards.

• Collaborate with Food Safety and Quality leadership team to learn the general AI goals and help design and execute specific plans and projects.

• Set the direction for data support trainings and communication activities.

• Work with analytics and business teams to track and demonstrate the concrete outcomes and effects of Generative AI projects.

• Champion a positive food safety culture, takes ownership, and empowers others to take immediate action on matters concerning food safety.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Food, Biological, Chemical Science or related with a passion for Data Systems.

• 10+ years leadership experience delivering insight into food safety and quality systems and leading others.

• Knowledge of analytics, AI/ML technology, and tools is desirable.

• Experience in strategic positions, preferably in various subsections of food safety and quality.

• Ability to work well with technical teams such as IT and Data Science.

• Excellent communication, team building, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to influence, partner with, and rally stakeholders across different levels.

• Proactive mindset prepared to handle future developments in Generative AI and assess their potential impact on business.

• Familiarity with the systems and processes for ensuring food safety and quality, as well as the manufacturing technologies or other related areas of duty.

• Able to write clear and accurate reports and communicate effectively with others.

Physical Requirements:

• Work in and around cramped/confined spaces

• Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders

• Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended work days to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions.

• Use of tools, equipment, and machinery

• Driving a company or rental vehicle for up to 6 hours as needed

• May need to travel 25-75% of the time depending on the business needs. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible Conagra Brands representative.

• Exposure to food tasting and smells including all food allergens.

Compensation:

Annual Base Salary: $126,000.00 - $186,000.00

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
