Position Summary

Leads the maintenance team in executing preventative and corrective activities, including scheduling, coordination, and communication between all departments in the facility. Completes maintenance repair and improvement activities and projects. Accountable for personnel safety/PPE usage, 6S OEE metric, and work order metrics.

Position Responsibilities

  • Conducts advanced troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Works with production, maintenance technicians, quality department, and operations management to plan and execute improvement activities.

  • Coordinates scheduled maintenance with scheduling, production, and maintenance departments to ensure parts, supplies, and personnel is in place.

  • Tracks progress of preventative and work order completion to ensure department goals are met.

  • Processes and completes preventative and corrective maintenance requests in a timely manner.

  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.

  • Supports and drives lean manufacturing projects and goals.

  • Follows all safety guidelines and promotes safety in the work areas; is always respirator-fit ready.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of manufacturing maintenance or equivalent experience required with demonstrated leadership ability.

  • Has successfully completed the 24-hour HAZWOPER training refresher course and adheres to appropriate procedures related to hazardous materials.

  • Understands, comprehends, complies with, and trains the department on Lock Out Tag Out procedures for all equipment, including fire extinguisher training and Hot Work sheets.

  • Proficient in electronic, mechanical and PLC troubleshooting and reading equipment schematics.

  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and provides support to meet changing work demands and priorities.

  • Displays high attention to detail.

  • Demonstrates the ability to multitask in fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and customer skills are needed to keep the customer well informed of the status of their department’s equipment.

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Associate degree in electrical or mechanical field of study or equivalent experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment preferred.

  • Certification in mechanical, electrical, or other accredited industrial maintenance-related field preferred.

  • Dependent on site, 3rd Grade Boiler License preferred.
