Description

We are on the hunt for a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our client's team in OREGON CITY, Oregon. This role primarily involves performing complex accounting tasks, auditing, grants management, contract fiscal oversight, and general ledger functions. This is a temporary employment opportunity that offers a chance to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing high-level accounting tasks that may fall outside the concepts covered by regularly available written procedures, management and financial policies, standards, Federal and State laws or regulations.

• Preparing extensive reports, exhibits, and other supporting documents that detail a program’s financial position and fiscal soundness.

• Ensuring compliance with appropriate laws, grant/funding requirements, and regulations; recommending solutions to senior managers and external organizations regarding unusual or questionable financial accounting and reporting.

• Independently preparing, monitoring, and auditing financial plans for assigned programs and making recommendations to senior managers.

• Investigating, researching, and auditing program activities to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and ethical financial treatment of transactions and operations.

• Reviewing balance sheets, cost and rate analyses, operating income and expenses, and preparing grant/funding reports and documentation as part of regular duties.

• Developing an overall analysis of specific accounts and grants, and designing procedures and tests to achieve regulatory goals, standards, objectives and timelines.

• Analyzing data and preparing or overseeing the preparation of detailed financial reports, statements, and projections to assist in the development of budgets and for budget monitoring.

• Analyzing and auditing/reviewing a full range of fiscal records, systems, policies and/or procedures and recommending modifications to existing records, reports, systems, policies and/or procedures.

• Functioning as a technical resource to other fiscal staff by providing expertise and guidance in a particular financial or accounting subject.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Demonstrated experience in General Ledger management

• Proficiency in creating and maintaining Journal Entries

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in Oracle software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting or a related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
