CITY OF OREM Facilities Intern in OREM, Utah

Employment Opportunity

Under general supervision of the Building Maintenance Division Manager, the Facilities Intern will gather information on the components needed to accomplish the data entry into the Elements software. They will enter information into the Orem City inventory system as directed by their supervisor. This work will be done in all of buildings that the city owns.

Qualifications

General knowledge of facilities operations, plumbing, HVAC, Electrical and building construction. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public and other employees. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Willing to follow safe work practices including ladder safety, confined space safety, and others as assigned. Ability to lift and move heavy objects. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Maintains a valid Utah Driver's License. Will observe all traffic regulations, follow City policy and be a safe, courteous and responsible driver while operating City vehicles. Must wear seat belt and make certain that other passengers are in seatbelts when vehicle is in operation. Willing to learn emergency procedures in each building within 3 months of hire date. General knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, alarms, pull stations, horns and deluge fire systems.
