Staff Accountant Full time, Monday through Friday for Giotto Enterprises in Oriskany, NY.

Job description Giotto Enterprises consists of seven affiliates in the greater Utica/Rome/Herkimer area including its flagship company, Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc. ("FIS") in Oriskany, NY. FIS, a leading manufacturer of fiber optic cable, connectors, test equipment, and related telecommunication and data communication components, has an immediate opportunity for a Staff Accountant at its Oriskany, NY headquarters. This is full-time position in an excellent working environment, the successful candidate reporting directly to the corporate CFO. IMPORTANT: Wage rate will be commensurate with position, shift worked, experience, education, and required skill level. Duties and Responsibilities: * Daily sales and production posting, review and analysis * Prepare monthly reports for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger * Maintaining the integrity of all cost data * Analyzing purchase price variances and providing explanations * Oversee information related to purchase costs, outside service costs, labor rates, overhead rates * Managing the physical inventory, cycle counts and inventory adjustments * Assisting with the month-end close procedures * Analyzing and reconciling inventory accounts in the general ledger Qualifications: * Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or Business degree (preferred), OR Associate's in Accounting with minimum of five years of experience * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Must possess a strong attention to detail and enjoy working in a team environment * Self-motivated with results driven approach.
