The Role

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Engineer will lead all process Design, Monitoring and Control Pilots/initiatives and provide guidance to process owners and stakeholders and the lean six sigma team. The Six Sigma Black Belt Engineer will set and drive the process monitoring business wide initiatives to align with the Business Unit Strategy. She/he will work closely with the OpEx Director and Site Directors and in addition to working with the Quality Leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will develop and re-engineer Production & Quality processes to meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues, lead driving improvements, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

  • In conjunction with other Operations and Quality team members, serve as a change agent in institutionalizing Lean Six Sigma quality into the business

  • Provide overall LSS strategy for Process Monitoring and Control linking closely with site Quality Leaders and OpEx Leaders

  • Lead SS and Lean resources towards effective execution of Process Monitoring strategy and specific project deliverables

  • Execute the pilot projects and implementation of SPC systems and tools

  • Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools; mentor Greenbelts

  • Work with each manufacturing Site to develop glide paths for Critical to Quality processes and establish current SPC (Cp/Cpk) and set future targets

  • Own and deliver the Process Improvement glide paths, enhance and develop metrics for key processes make visible and hold people accountable

  • Drive improvements and standardization of processes, tools used for driving World-class Product Quality and reliability

  • Ensure all projects are measurable and providing significant impact to the business aligned with the BU Strategy and pain points

  • Work closely with global and site procurement team to establish supplier product/process monitoring program

  • Develop system to capture and implement best practices

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related scientific field or Business Administration

  • Prior SS and LSS experiences

  • Prior Medical/Automotive/Aviation Industry Or FMCG manufacturing leadership experience

  • Proven change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization

  • Experiences with applying statistical process control tools (Eg: Infinity QS) to drive process improvements

  • Established analytical, quantitative, and process ability

  • Demonstrated commitment for process improvement

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to make executive level presentations

  • Black Belt certified

Desired Characteristics:

  • Expertise in Medical cartridge manufacturing, and Production manufacturing processes design

  • Proven years of experience in the application of statistical tools in the business

  • environment

  • Ability to meet objectives by influencing and engaging others globally as required

  • Quality and cost driven

  • Auditing experience with ISO knowledge

  • Strong organizational skills
