The Service Center Manager will oversee the entire Spokane, WA production facility. The manager position is directly connected to safety, quality, cost, and productivity. To be successful within this role, the manager must maintain credibility and set the standards to reflect a strong work ethic and a desire for continuous improvements that focuses on profitability and customer satisfaction. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role and ensuring the adherence of these are carried out in the workplace is the responsibility of the manager. Set the standard for safety expectations, adhere to all safety policies, and set a good example of integrity for the personnel in which you serve. Lead monthly safety meetings and monitor daily activities to identify at risk behaviors. Work with the operations team to develop and sustain standards for productivity, quality, safety, cost, and delivery. Monitor employees to eliminate at risk behavior and poor job performance. Properly document any deficiencies so that we reflect a consistent approach to each incident. Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment is being performed to accomplish safe operations. Complete weekly safety inspections of the departmental equipment and tools to prevent potential injuries, participate and be pro-active in removing hazards in the workplace. Contribute to growth with inventory, increasing optimization by working with Sales, Inventory Management, and Operations to identify opportunities to utilize capacity, reduce lead times, and increase margin. Analyze financial and performance data to reveal adjustments needed to maintain profitability. Implement lean manufacturing techniques and concepts and effectively communicate with the team the benefits thereof. Eliminate the potential of operating outside process standards, understanding the work, the technicians, and the environment. Perform root cause analysis on all safety and quality related issues and report findings to leadership team to review. Implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of failures. Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to lower costs and increase profitability. Maintain production tracking so that we can monitor trends and identify training opportunities for the departmental production personnel. Remove obstacles to prevent production stoppages. Lead weekly production meetings with each departmental supervisor to determine the adjustments needed to accomplish weekly goals. Update material spreadsheets and accurately account for finished product as well as product in the raw material storage areas; forecast revenue for the current month. Identify all scheduling conflicts and communicate to leadership when significant revenue could be adversely impacted. Ensure finished goods storage areas are utilized effectively, and that the product is stored properly within the designated areas. Must be able to identify and understand the differences of the product classes and what values each hold regarding salvage and recondition inventory. Complete timekeeping in a timely manner regarding payroll activities and labor transfers. Review and approve POs for site operations. Manage vendor and client communications. Influence employees to create a culture that encourages open discussions, trust, and safe work practices. Build bench strength by collaborating with leadership team to ensure future growth and leadership opportunities for employees. Teach technical skills as directed and create job aids as needed. Ensure all personnel receive adequate training to perform the tasks assigned. Build strong working relationships with key personnel from outside facilities and internal departments.
