Granville Health System Director, Women's Services in Oxford, North Carolina

Summary:#Responsible for the strategic oversight and day to day operations of a busy and growing Labor and Delivery department. #Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all nursing, administrative and related technical activities to ensure care of all patients in Obstetrical Services. #Responsible for ensuring all departmental activities are in compliance with standards established by The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare # Medicaid Services (CMS), hospital bylaws, departmental regulations, institutional policies and procedures and Standards of Nursing Practice for patient care. Director must be a positive role model by demonstrating professional practice and behavior, being competent in all areas under their direction, and actively supporting mission, vision, and values of the organization. Must be involved in community events, and inspire staff to participate.# Duties:#Professional nurse leader is responsible for the overall management of Obstetrical Services on a 24/7 basis. #Responsibilities also include performance improvement activities, human resource management, fiscal management, supply and equipment management, department specific staff development and education, patient experience focus as well as developing and cultivating partnership with all members of the healthcare team including physicians. #Pursues programs of continuing education/staff development consistent with requirements of Granville Health System. #Participates in educational conferences, State and national collaboratives, and updates and maintains professional knowledge and skills related to the management of area(s) of responsibility. #Processes information on the hospital and departmental Health Information Systems #as required in performing job responsibilities.# Required:# ## Graduate from a Board approved nursing program with current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina. # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # ## # # # Considerable knowledge of current trends and nursing techniques applicable to the practice setting. # Five (5) years recent obstetrical clinical experience including a minimum of 3 years of management/leadership experience.# # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Current BLS and NRP training; fetal monitoring certification # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # ## # ACLS desired or obtained within one year. # # Preferred:#BSN degree preferred.
