Job Description Summary
The Coordinator is a member of the Center for Student Engagement, Activities, and Leadership. The Center is a part of the Division of Student life and comprises the Office of Student Activities; The Wilks Institute for Leadership and Service; and the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. The Coordinator reports to an Associate Director with primary responsibility for Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and works with colleagues and stakeholders in the enhancement of student engagement and leadership at Miami University. The Coordinator is responsible for working with fraternity and sorority students to develop strategic community wide programs and strong chapter infrastructure to advance the mission of their respective organizations and Miami University. The Coordinator works collaboratively with students, advisors, faculty, and campus departments to build strong networks for student success.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Co-advise the Panhellenic Association with the Associate Director of Sorority Leadership, advising the President and Executive Officers (with the exception of VP of Recruitment) in advancing the goals of the community
Attend weekly Panhellenic meetings ensuring all business is conducted in accordance with Panhellenic bylaws and NPC policies
Coordinate weekly meetings with the 4 council presidents and monthly Quad-Council Leadership Team (QLT) meetings for all council executive board officers and chapter presidents
Oversee logistics for student and office led initiatives including: Greek Week, Hazing Prevention Week, New Member Convocation, and Greeks Step Up (bystander intervention programming)
Support the annual SEAL Awards process by coordinating FSL Award application packets, forms, and judge selection
Plan and execute Greek Spring Service, the community's large day of service in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Community Engagement
Act as a chapter services liaison, providing advising and leadership development to a variety of chapters from the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Association, Multicultural Greek Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council
Be on site for Panhellenic primary recruitment and provide direct oversight to the Head Rho Gamma Directors and Rho Gammas
Assist with day-of coordination and help facilitate community-wide signature leadership programs including Acropolis (for emerging leaders) and Advance (for incoming chapter presidents)
Coordinate and implement office policies, procedures and expectations in adherence with Office and University expectations which may include assisting council officers with risk management and social policy education and compliance
Assist the Associate Directors with the implementation of collaborative programs which may include the Sorority Living Learning Community and the fraternity second year exemption and standards process
