A Brief Overview

The Lead SQA Engineer will work independently, create new application workflows, feature designs, and testing protocols.

This role is technically proficient in all areas of supported software, paying attention to design, function, and performance; including log reviews, automated alerts, performance metrics, and overall service metrics.

The role will oversee application workflows, handle escalated customer requests, and track workflow progress, constantly evaluating processes to more efficiently deliver application services to end-users.

The role will lead the use of Agile best practices, acting as a product owner for some applications to represent large groups of end-users for related feature requests.

The role will be responsible for creating action items based on service analytics, issue reports, and application performance metrics

What you will do

  • LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:

  • Same as Senior Role, but functions with a higher degree of autonomy and accountability.

  • Determines and develops methods, processes, and procedures on new assignments.

  • Develops conceptual framework for implementation of new/unique programs, projects.

  • CUSTOMER SUPPORT & INTERACTION:

  • Resolve issues with clients

  • Report to senior management on a regular basis, ensuring feedback is implemented to application workflows

  • ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Communicate and document design decisions and collaborate closely with other team members in business and development, partnering to resolve implementation issues and ensure quality

  • Guide Associate, Professional, and Senior SQA Engineers in developing new features and workflows to improve application function and usability

  • Ensure that all efforts are well documented and accessible to the larger community

  • Analyze high-level metrics and user feedback and identify opportunities for improvement within the team

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree BA/BS in information technology or business-related field from accredited college or university.

Experience Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in healthcare or technology related work environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expertise of common web technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

  • Expertise in common database technologies, Standard Query Language (SQL), relational design, normalization, no-SQL databases

  • Expertise in logical processing – ability to systematically deduce point of failure in complex system.

  • Expertise in visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication designs to others

  • Meticulous sense of detail and ability to seek out simple solutions to complex design challenges

  • A strong proponent of lean and agile user-centered approaches and methodologies

  • Ability to lead a project with a creative-out of the box design approach and deliver on a variety of solutions

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to lead multiple overlapping projects

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to engage actively in complex discussions, often on challenging and/or controversial subjects

  • Ability to negotiate on behalf of others to achieve best outcomes for the department and the organization as a whole

  • Ability to handle confrontation with appropriate grace, professionalism, cordiality, and firmness, and manages/resolves disputes appropriately

  • Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills to give information to and receive information from coworkers and clients in a tactfully and professional manner

  • Ability to use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions and/or reaching conclusions

  • Ability to develop new skills and teach others

  • Ability to collaborate and build consensus with stakeholders

  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing resources (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $59.14 - $78.37 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
