Rockley Photonics Senior Optical Systems Engineer in Pasadena, California
The Senior Optical Systems Engineer will be responsible for the characterization and validation of Rockley's silicon-photonics-based integrated optical sensing systems. The candidate will be part of the sensors team and perform hands-on testing at the PIC, subsystem, and system levels. The successful candidate will work closely with the design, packaging, process, and product teams to ensure the quality release of new products from the design concept through to the manufacturing phase.

Work with cross-functional teams (PIC design, systems design, packaging, software) to define and execute test plans (die and wafer level), and contribute to program roadmaps;
Design, set up, and maintain complex test environments and automated setups;
Analyze test data, generate reports, participate in reviews with relevant stakeholders and make recommendations;
Support and qualify system test infrastructure and automated test software;
Support the adaptation of equipment from the design verification environment to high-volume manufacturing test platforms;
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a Master of Science (BME, EE, Physics, or similar); Ph.D. preferred;
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in optical and electrical testing of photonic systems and sub-systems;
Familiar with optical setups (die, wafer level) and both optical and electronic test equipment;
Familiar with working and handling optical components;
Ability to work independently as well as effectively with a team, in a fast-paced environment, with engineers from varying disciplines;
Have good time management skills and is self-motivated; have a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced and challenging environment;
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
Resourceful with strong problem-solving skills;
EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements. This position requires access to information protected under US export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.
