Naval Sea Systems Command SHIP PRODUCTION MANAGER in Pascagoula, Mississippi

Summary You will serve as a SHIP PRODUCTION MANAGER in the WATERFRONT OPERATIONS of SUPSHIP GULF COAST. Responsibilities You will act as a primary contact and technical authority on ship construction and quality assurance matters for the ships being constructed. You will perform as the production technical authority for construction, plans, manages and coordinates contract management activities, which affect ship production and analyzes and advises course of action. You will monitor and evaluate progress for the shipbuilding contract, including physical progress, shipbuilder man-hours expended and key event data and schedules. You will provide technical evaluations on production and quality assurance status and problems to the Program Managers Representative. You will provide technical guidance of budget development, cost analysis, financial control and management of the production and quality assurance aspects of the ship contract. You will maintain liaison with interfacing organizations on matters relating to ship contracts in order to identify problems and develop solutions, both technical and managerial. You will review and evaluate the effectiveness of the shipyard in meeting the schedule, technical, production, cost, and administrative requirements. You will manage and supervise adherence to trial card processes for the LHA Class Ships for SUPSHIP Gulf Coast. You will manage the Waterfront Change process for LHA Class ships. You will administratively and technically supervise Production Controllers, Military Officers, and Ship Superintendent; and others as may be assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (or GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing quality assurance oversight of contractor activities or performance for shipbuilding projects, repairs, or construction. Education Additional Information This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-3 broadband encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-12 and GS-13 grade levels. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
