This position is responsible for Section 8 home inspections for Livingston County (training provided). Travel between the two counties is required. Scope of Work:
Must be a certified HQS Inspector within 6 months (training provided). Develop and maintain a good rapport and positive image with present landlords/participants as well as potential landlords/participants to the program. Conduct move-in, annuals and reinspections in compliance with the Section 8 Program. Inform landlord and tenant of any "failed" items and of the time frame for making necessary corrections. Work with landlords and participants to resolve any problems that may arise. Encourage tenants and owners to maintain units to Housing Quality Standards (HQS) as a minimum. Documents inspections in system through detailed notes and uploads photos to file management system in an organized and timely manner. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager.

Location: Wyoming County Community Action, 6470 State Route 20A, Perry, NY / Travel to Livingston County is required. Office Hours: Monday & Tuesday 8am-5:30pm, Wednesday & Thursday 8am-5pm. Occasional Fridays. Qualifications: Associates degree preferred but not required. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Detail oriented. Computer skills are a must. Possession of a valid drivers license and access to an insured vehicle for work-related travel.
