Day Shift: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM, Monday-Friday

Night Shift: 9:00 PM-6:00 AM, Sunday-Thursday

Starting Pay:

Day Shift: $18.30

Nightshift: $20.30

Machine Operator II at Ditch Witch:

Operate one or more of various production machines. Machines operated may include Lathes, mills, drills, saws, automatic welders, benders, punches, shears, flame cuts, hi-definition & plasma, laser, heat treat, shot blast, gun drill, etc. As a cross-functional team member of this division he or she may also assemble components and perform other duties as assigned.

What Will You Do?

  • Read information from blueprints.

  • Set up, adjust, and operate production equipment. This includes monitoring the performance of the machine and carrying out operations in proper sequence.

  • Set up fixtures, mount parts/components in fixtures, and perform mechanical assembly. This includes using hand and air tools (wrenches, torque wrenches, impact wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.).

  • May remove parts from fixtures, clean or de-burr them, check them for quality using measuring tools (micrometers, gauges, tape measures, rules, squares, etc.), and detect and correct defects.

  • Performs basic operator maintenance to the equipment with which they are assigned to avoid down time and loss of production.

  • Use a computer to check part locations, inventory, and maintaining production records.

  • Provide input for troubleshooting and problem solving.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, with variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt).

  • Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling.

  • Work with hazardous materials, such as coolant, solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases.

  • Variable duties, workloads, and priorities.

What Will You Need?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Typically, 18 to 36 months of directly related experience required; experience in welding or mechanical repair preferred.

  • Be knowledgeable of SAP and be able to utilize the system, and assist others, based upon job needs.

  • Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills. This includes the ability to understand written instructions, maintain production records, and calculate sums, differences, and fractions.

  • Demonstrates the ability to move from process to process with little to no supervision.
