SUMMARY:

Responsible to guarantee achievement of time and cost target during the entire lifecycle of each program from review of the initial proposal with the appropriate Business Unit (Government / Commercial) through the delivery to include post-delivery and customer objectives. The main focus is issuing and managing the relevant Work Order that is the controlling document for each single helicopter built or modified. Interface with all AWPC/LH departments at all levels of the organization. Determine customer requirements and translate these into organizational plans (Integrated Master Schedules-IMS), Risk Assessments, Schedule Metric generation and reporting, and all activities related to execution of the Program. Responsible for reporting the status of each program to Head of Program Management and Top Management. Available to travel to participate to Trade Show and/or to support Bid s and Proposals, Programs and/or to visit Vendors.

  • Program Management is responsible for preparing proposals and leading projects in aerospace. They must know the fundamentals of air transport, FAA regulation, and revenue management. Their responsibilities may also include field and management support, and building client relationships for aerospace companies. 
  • They work closely with engineers. Manage the implementation, coordination and reporting for programs or contracts. Configuration Management, defining points of introduction for engineering changes. 
  • Track program risks and costs.
  • Manage staffing and successful performance of team members.
  • Develop timelines for the program.

     

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Feasibility analysis; cost / time / certification / system interface to include but not be limited to developmental systems with suppliers and  within all AWPC departments as needed. 

  2. Provide clear direction on configurations to engineering and the entire AWPC team to produce and deliver each aircraft on schedule and within budget. Work Authorization

  3. Conduct various meetings and generate reports / written details that will be required in order to bring the teams together and generate a unified approach to close program projects 

  4. Make daily decisions based on available internal / external data / experience 

  5. Monitor configuration changes and suggest solutions & limits for configuration changes that may have a negative impact on production cycles. Change Management

  6. Work with PM and BUs in order to assure the delivery plan and recommend aircraft serial number assignments based on company and client objectives.   

  7. Perform other duties and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.

  8. Monitor the current cost vs. planned budget and report to Senior PM/ Head of PM to take corrective actions, as needed

     

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree Required, preferred field Business/Aerospace/Engineering or related.

Experience

Two to five (2 - 5) years of project/program management or related experience that would 

permit performance of essential duties and responsibilities. Experience in Project Management, 

Government Contracts and specific knowledge of the Leonardo Helicopters products is a plus.
