Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a Project Manager to provide construction management on various building and facility construction projects in the Philadelphia area. This role is not remote and will require on site presence. The position consists of the management of a variety of projects with varying scopes & phases through project lifecycles including design, procurement, construction, and closeout. The emphasis of the position will be primarily on construction phase management.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Main point of contact. Coordinate delivery of all tasks

  • Conduct all project progress meetings and distribute agenda and meeting minutes

  • Responsible for document control and recordkeeping

  • Management of submittal and RFI processes

  • Quality Assurance

  • Provides daily logs for days on-site

  • Coordinate/manage third party special inspection, testing and commissioning

  • Document any corrective work actions required

General Requirements

  • In the best interest of the project, we expect the Project Manager to work in collaboration with an entire Project Delivery Team.

  • The Project Manager shall advise the client regarding all services being performed on the projects. The goal shall be to achieve the best quality and value while controlling schedule and budget.

  • The Project Manager shall take initiative in helping resolve problems and minimize claims, taking all reasonable measures to anticipate problems and delays and to minimize or eliminate their adverse impact to the project schedule, budget, and approved design.

  • The Project Manager shall take the initiative and act to mitigate circumstances that could lead to claims, resolve conflicts promptly, and keep the client advised of any potential disputes and project delays.

  • The Project Manager shall exercise due diligence to ensure that the project meets applicable requirements, codes, regulations, standards, and the project construction documents.

  • The Project Manager must understand principles of construction contracts, including contract administration

  • The Project Manager shall establish and maintain communication and professional relationships with client, consultants, contractors Veterans and all project delivery team members throughout all project stages.

  • Client Project Team Members

  • Architect/Engineer

  • General Contractor

  • Various Public Agencies

  • Utility Company(s)

  • Special Inspectors/Testing

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively, consult and coordinate with federal, state, regional, and local agencies as required for project approval(s).

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and priorities, particularly related to different stages of design and construction with multiple stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of Building Construction and Commissioning processes

  • Successful track record in budgeting, design oversight, and construction management.

  • Effective at public speaking, writing, and presenting to varied audiences.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and the ability to use project management tracking software.

Experience with:

  • The principles, practices, techniques, and instruments used in project documentation

  • The principles, theory, and practices of Architectural and MEP construction and building commissioning

  • The materials and methods used in the construction and renovation of buildings

  • The principles of project management

  • The principles of engineering and construction supervision

  • Project management software as related to the work

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • It is required for the project manager to be a registered architect or engineer.

  • The person shall have experience in the management of design and construction contracts, submittal reviews, schedule reviews, change management, and program management.

Preferred Requirements

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in the field of design and construction management

  • Building Commissioning experience

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $135,000.00.
