University of Pennsylvania Research Associate (JE) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of molecular biology, protein biochemistry, immunology, mouse genetic analyses, high throughput genomics and epigenetics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include Investigation of the role of murine cardiac-specific gene knockouts in high fat diet-induced cardiac failure.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills and experimental techniques, prepare manuscripts, present research findings in national meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.

Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience in mouse genomics and genetics
