Responsibilities

The Neurosurgical ICU DEPARTMENT at Dignity Health St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a dynamic environment where you can pursue a highly challenging and rewarding career. U.S. News & World Report has consistently recognized Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center as one of the top 10 hospitals for Neurology and Neurosurgery in the country. Touching the lives of more than 5,000 patients each year, our 32-bed NEUROSURGICAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT specializes in treating patients with neurological injuries and diseases that may require endovascular intervention, brain and spinal tumors, subarachnoid hemorrhages, and neuro-trauma patients. The staff work in partnership with our patients and their families to provide excellent care based on evidence and best practices. To thrive in this role, you'll provide oversight of the activities on the nursing unit during a specific shift, including serving as a resource to staff, directing patient flow, assuring appropriate utilization of resources and providing oversight for the provisions of quality care in a manner satisfying to patients. You’ll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react. You also serve as the patient's advocate- supporting their best interests when they cannot. However, your sound judgment during an emergency and rapid response are impressive, putting you on the radar for advancement.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • ADN Diploma or foreign equivalent.

  • Current AZ State RN license in good standing.

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred:

  • Two years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or Charge Nurse experience.

  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within six months of hire into position.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

  • Previous experience with personal computers.

Pay Range

$42.85 - $63.77 /hour
