THE POSITION

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise on a variety of projects and programs. You will use your expert knowledge of engineering discipline and standards, processes and tools to complete and ensure compliance of various projects. You are the point of contact for external customers and will help to develop and define engineering processes in your area of expertise. You may participate in development of new business opportunities and product lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is responsible for providing technical expertise in developing new E&PS products

  • Supporting proposals to address future business opportunities, value engineering, and program/process changes

  • Mentoring global teams and early career engineers

  • Leading Development, Production and Phase 6 (Legacy Support) design activities

U.S. CITIZEN REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering from an accredited university

  • 8+ years of mechanical design engineering experience in gas turbine engines installations & externals design, including additive manufacturing, plumbing systems, wiring harnesses, brackets & mounts, component integration, fire suppression & detection and installation kits

  • 6+ years of experience in mechanical design with NX or CAD design tool including modeling, drafting, DMU management, layouts and design proposals

  • Proven application of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and overseeing successful projects with experience leading design teams

  • Experience in Conceptual Design, Preliminary Design and Detailed Design phases

  • Experience with supplier engagement, and support to phase 6+ programs

  • Ability to lead and mentor engineers as a subject matter expert
